    Description

Fender Stu Hamm Urge Bass Made in Mexico. Black and heavily modified. I bought this bass back in 2005. It was already completely modified and ready to go. First let me say it is an awesome bass and the mods make it excellent to play live and on the road. I bought this bass specifically for that reason. My goal was to have a very reliable and easy to play bass that would sound professional. Here is why I picked this bass to use on the road. It has Seymour Duncan pick ups which I think have wonderful tone. I have always found Seymour Duncan pick ups to sound better than stock pick ups in my opinion so that was a huge plus in my opinion. The tuners were upgraded to Sperzel locking tuners and always stayed in tune and made changing strings easy. I really wanted upgraded tuners especially when I knew I was gigging this much. It has an upgraded Wilkinson bridge. I adjusted the action right when I got the bass and I never had to adjust it again. Plus I loved it being a five string on a fourth string scale. For me it was a lot easier to play and when I was playing 4 hours a night my hand didn’t get fatigued. Plus it’s not that heavy of a bass and it’s easy to play.
I hope that was helpful in explaining this bass. Here are more general specs about it.
It was made in 1993. It is a five string on a regular four string bass.
It has two Seymour Duncan active pickups. it has two batteries in it one for each pick up. It has a special Wilkinson bridge. It has sperzel locking tuners which are awesome and stay in tune perfect. I played this bass for years and played over 100 shows with it. I played live for years with this bass.
It was extremely reliable and it’s not a very heavy bass so it’s easy to wear and play. It has many mark scratches , pick scratches and dings. I just really want to emphasize that it has been a stage bass. I definitely encourage you to view it in person if possible.
Please look at all the pictures closely and if you need more pictures I have them and can email them to you. I encourage you to email me and ask me for more detailed pictures. It does have belt rash on the back it’s very hard to get a photo of it but it basically made the finish dull where my belt buckle was. It has plenty of wear and tear on it. It currently has strap locks on it the receiving end of the strap lock. It has various scratches and dings in different areas. It will definitely need a new set of strings because these are pretty old and dirty. It does have fret where it has been played a lot. I have the action set pretty low so the new owner may want to raise it some. Feel free to ask me any questions or if you want to come see it in person. Just as a point of reference I mainly played rock and it was perfect for that. It had a pretty good solid low end. This is heavily heavily modified bass and is an excellent choice for a live gigging musician or somebody with experience
I don’t recommend this for a beginner because it is not a standard bass. It is a custom bass for a very specific purpose.
It comes with a non-fender gig bag.
