ITEM 1:
The Rolling Stones - Rare 1978 "Some Girls" Boxing-Style Promo Poster With Banned Artwork
I purchased this extremely
scarce
promo
poster directly from Mr. Jeff Gold, owner of Recordmecca, in Venice, California, from whom the Certificate of Authenticity was issued.  The following information explains the origins of this banned poster from Recordmecca's website:
"A scarce cardboard boxing-style promotional poster advertising the Rolling Stones 1978 album
Some Girls,
and featuring and featuring the withdrawn artwork with images of Marilyn Monroe, Lucille Ball, Farrah Fawcett and others.
Printed by Colby Posters of Los Angeles, these were posted on telephone poles around Los Angeles.  We obtained this from an employee of the company hired to post these at the time of the album’s release.  He told us they were only posted in Los Angeles, and when The Stones were sued by some of the celebrities pictured on the album cover, they were quickly pulled down by his company.  This is an unused example in excellent condition.  14″ x 22″."

ITEM 2:
The Rolling Stones "Some Girls" Banned LP
I purchased this
rare
LP decades ago at Boo Boo Records in San Luis Obispo, California.  The album blends perfectly with the poster and the two would look great framed together.
The following information is from Wikipedia which details the banned Packaging and Artwork:
"The album cover for
Some Girls
was conceived and designed by
Peter Corriston
, who would design the next three album covers,
[4]
with illustrations by Hubert Kretzschmar.
[9]
An elaborate die-cut design, with the colours on the sleeves varying in different markets, it featured the Rolling Stones' faces alongside those of select female celebrities inserted into a copy of an old Valmor Products Corporation advertisement. The cover design was challenged legally when
Lucille Ball
,
Farrah Fawcett
,
Liza Minnelli
(representing her mother
Judy Garland
),
Raquel Welch
, and the estate of
Marilyn Monroe
threatened to sue for the use of their likenesses without permission.
[4]
Similarly, Valmor did take legal action and were given a monetary award for the use of their design.
[10]
The album was quickly re-issued with a redesigned cover that removed all the celebrities, whether they had complained or not. The celebrity images were replaced with black and punk style garish colours with the phrase
Pardon our appearance – cover under re-construction
. Jagger later apologised to Minnelli when he encountered her during a party at the famous discothèque
Studio 54
. The only celebrity whose face was not removed was ex-Beatle George Harrison. As with the original design, the colour schemes on the redesigned sleeves varied in different markets."
